Coral Plant Dyed Linen Lace Weave Scarf Wrap
Madder Root grows like a weed in many parts of the world. I tried growing it in my dye garden and it invaded everything. The roots spread out quickly and are thick; it is the root that gives the range of colors from orange to red to brown. The plant must grow for 3 years to build up enough alizarin in the roots--the alizarin gives the color.
This madder root has an pink orange glow, like coral. I dyed it on a linen lace weave scarf handwoven on a loom in India. All my handwoven scarves come from a fair trade village. Each piece is unique to the weaver.
This linen wrap has an open weave structure. To create the blocks of open weave on the fabric, the warp yarns are set farther apart on the loom. This gives a very light and airy feel. The wrap is great for summer or a cruise.
The scarf easy care, just hand wash, hang to dry, and you can iron it if you wish.
Dimensions: 72” long, 22” wide
100% Linen
